As Kaylee and I have been discussing this blog while we’re on her internship, the question has remained of what my role should be with it. Kaylee will be doing monthly updates, filling you in on what has been happening in our lives in said months, what she is learning, along with some other things, so it would be a little redundant if I shared my side of the same events too.
However, I have been thinking I would like to share some thoughts of mine since around April of this year, but could never find the opportunity or medium before those thoughts fleeted. Now that I have more time on my hands to think through things, I would love to periodically write about certain issues or topics and how they relate to my personal experience here in Uganda. These posts will be somewhere mixed between reflective, academic, and creative. However I won’t be posting references or credit unless they are direct quotes or hard to find, because I want people’s biases out of the mix (so feel free to ask where I got something if you’re intrigued). Some things I’m considering writing on are: biblical issues (duh), marriage, anxiety, poverty, race, and others.
Both Kaylee and I are unsure of what career paths we will take when we are done school, but during our time in school I have found that I love the process of learning and writing about it, and it’s likely my career will involve something of the sort. So I might as well get some practice in now!
Thank you for joining along with us in our journey. I will post my reflections in the “Reflection” category on our blog, which will not end up into your inboxes if you are signed up for updates, in case you would like to see only those posts down the road.
